one of my best friends shaina moved back up to Portland about 2 years ago and i have been meaning to go visit, but tickets are always crazy expensive. But with southwest's "ding" we were able to get tickets for $99 each way - only $450 round trip for two?!?! we had to go!
shaina picked us up friday at noon and we went and had a picnic lunch at this waterfall - super gorgeous. we then went to a brewery and tasted some local wine and beer. next we went to a local winery where we did some tasting and picked some tulips. then we visited the Vista House, which has amazing views of the Washington and Portland hillsides. that night we went to have sushi at shaina and hugh's favorite spot - it was delicious!

saturday we had another full day. we picked up some donuts at voodoo donuts and had a picnic in the park by the saturday market. we walked through the market for a while and then headed to another local brewery for lunch. after we continued onto the "fruit loop" for some wine tasting :) after a few hours we were spent and picked up some pizza and headed to the park for a picnic and bocce ball tournement! after we went to see a movie at the kennedy school. again a great experience.

sunday we opted for a lazy day so we went for a walk around the neighborhood and picked up some breakfast/lunch. then headed to the bookstore and picked up some tcby :) we planned to head to the park and read, but took naps instead. sunday we went to watch hugh play his softball game and then rented a movie and hugh made some homemade popcorn - yum.
monday was a short day as we were headed back to abilene, but we managed to get some bagels and coffee before shaina dropped us off for a sad sad goodbye.
That waterfall is AMAZING!!!! Absolutely beautiful. Did you go up on that bridge? So pretty.
ReplyDeletewe did! you can barely see in the background that there is another MUCH taller waterfall as well. You can climb all the way to the top of that one as well, but we opted out. it was picture perfect though!
