MY STICKS HAVE FLOWERS!

So i have to give rob a pass for his lofty weekend plans, he got called into work friday at midnight and was there until 6am, then was back out there saturday from noon to 5pm. so between having to go to work and trying to catch up on lost sleep - he didn't stand a chance at completing his list this weekend. he did get the important stuff done...
friday we went to dinner and to see shrek in 3d - i was a little disappointed that it wasn't more funny, but i love shrek so it was still a great night. like i said rob went to work and i slept soundly. he got home and slept on and off through the morning before going back to work. i got up and mowed the lawn and did some other work around the house. while i was working i noticed that my sticks were blooming :) here's the day i planted them and then this weekend.

(please ignore the grass spreading in the flower bed - i am in the process of taking care of that!)

Sunday we ran some errands before the wonderful thunderstorm blew in. rob and i sat on the back porch eating watermelon and watched the rain. it dropped to the low 70's so rob was in heaven! while out and about i finally found some pots and rubber plants to replace the ugly things that were by the front door. i think they turned out great. i bought some other smaller annual flowers that i might put in small pots next to these, but they look like the sun on the drive home from the store yesterday may have done them in - if they come back they will be a nice addition to the rubber plants! does anyone know if i have to bring these inside when it freezes or if they'll make it outside? they're under the porch so they're sheltered, but not sure they can take the cold.
this is a short week for us, we're headed to CT on Thursday. Cannot wait for a little time off work! hope everyone had a great weekend. loves.

  1. I love the pot! It looks really pretty. I think the rubber plants have to come inside, but I'm not sure. I had mine inside all winter and put it out when it warmed up.
